[2] Setup Procedure

(1) Installing the Dial Indicator Set the Dial Indicator by inserting its spindle in the holder so that the indicator reads at least 0.3mm (or more depending on the indicator being used). Secure the Dial Indicator with the clamp screws. Attach the protective cover.

(2) Attaching the limit hand Where limit hands are provided use them as necessary. To install the limit hand, hook it on the lower bezel and push it clicks in place. To remove, force open (refer to the figure).

(3) Setting the measuring dimension For the required measuring dimension select the appropriate interchangeable rod, interchangeable washers, and sub anvils and set them on the main unit. If performing a measurement with the interchangeable rod, interchangeable washers, and sub anvils assembled, use a minimum number for each. If your gage is supplied with two types of nuts for attaching the anvil, please observe the following precautions. When attaching the anvil along with the replacement washers in combination with a total thickness of 3mm or more, use the long nut (with an ID-groove) to secure the anvil. When attaching the anvil without using any washer or along with the washers in combination with a total thickness of 2.5mm or less, use the short nut to secure the anvil.

[3] Attaching the extension rod (optional accessories)

For measuring diameters in a deep hole, for which a standard Bore Gage cannot be used, attach the optional extension rod to the Bore Gage.
(1) Using the supplied wrench, remove the measuring head by turning the outer sleeve.
(2) Screw the extension rod into the outer sleeve.
(3) Screw the measuring head onto the extension rod.
(4) Extension rod may affect the measuring accuracy. Do not use two or more of them.
